On 25 October, the new school auditorium in Bong Mines, Liberia, was officially opened. Construction of the building was made possible through financial support from the German Embassy in Monrovia. The ceremony was attended by German Ambassador Jakob Haselhuber, as well as representatives of the local education authorities, the school leadership, teachers, students and community members. Their attendance emphasised the importance of the project in strengthening educational structures in the region.

The auditorium will serve as a much-needed venue for school assemblies, academic ceremonies, examinations, cultural performances, workshops and health awareness activities. It will also serve the wider community as a space for meetings, celebrations and public events, addressing the long-standing lack of suitable indoor facilities in Bong Mines. By offering a protected and functional environment, the building will enhance learning conditions and create new opportunities for extracurricular and community engagement.
The auditorium was completed through close cooperation between Kinder Afrikas e.V., the local school management team and community volunteers who supported the construction process. Funding from the German Embassy ensured that the work, from the foundations and roof to the electrical installation and painting, could be carried out efficiently and to a high standard.
With over 300 pupils enrolled at the school, the new auditorium is expected to have a positive, long-lasting impact on daily school life and community cohesion. It represents an important step towards creating a stronger, more resilient educational environment in Bong Mines.
